Mzumbe University led by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. William Mwegoha was one of eleven Non-State Actors who signed the two-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the World Health Organization (WHO) led by the Country Representative - Tanzania, Dr. Charles Sagoe-Moses. The MOU was signed on 8th May 2024 at UN office in Dar es Salaam.
The objective of this Memorandum of Understanding is to provide a framework of cooperation and understanding. It also aims to facilitate collaboration between the parties to further their shared goals and objectives.
Mainly the MOU is subjected to Strengthen health systems to ensure universal access to quality RMNCAH and other essential health services. Protect communities against public health emergencies. Reduce/control exposure of individuals to risk factors that threaten their health and well-being and improve efficiencies in the health sector through better health governance, leadership, and accountability.
